The bar gantry itself began life as an elaborate Victorian dresser whilst the counter itself is host to eight hand pumps serving four regular and four guest cask ales. This extends to 20 cask ales twice a year on the last weekends in May and October when the Four Marys stages a superb Cask Ale Festival.

Not for nothing has the Four Marys been accredited by Cask Marque, for its reputation for dispensing a perfect pint of Cask Ale is well renowned both locally and indeed nationally. Connoisseurs of malt whisky will not be disappointed either, with an interesting selection of some 20 malts from both island and highland regions to tempt the palate.

Outside

Should the sun shine then the Four Marys has a lovely sheltered beer garden to the rear. This oasis of calm also has the benefit of a large parasol with heating elements, allowing customers to enjoy the perfect temperature even if the weather turns a little chilly, however most guests seem to prefer to soak up the friendly and convivial atmosphere within the Four Marys.

It’s evident that the Four Marys is cherished by both locals & visitors, and it’s also clear that Eve and Ian Forrest who manage the premises take immense pride in their role in maintaining such high standards. On entering the pub one of the first thing that strikes is the plethora of certificates and industry awards for excellence that decorate the walls and having enjoyed the hospitality provided, one can understand why so many awards have been presented.
